Main storyline is 20 hrs long but emergencies and replayability makes it 100+ Hours
Dying Light 2 is certainly one of the most anticipated zombie games of 2020. Even though the genre was already ruled by the likes of Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, COD: Zombies, etc., Dying Light came with a brilliant gameplay mechanics and focused storyline.
The final moments of the game got a little bleak, but the overall experience of Dying Light was incredible.
Now, Dying Light 2 has the hopes for many fans and critics alike on its shoulders; and it seems like it will deliver on the promises made in E3 2019, when it comes in Spring 2020.
So…let’s talk about the latest gameplay update of Dying Light 2.
Time Period of Main Storyline
According to Prankster 101, who interviewed, the lead designer of Dying Light 2, Tymon Smektala, about the time taken to complete the game.
The answer came in 2 folds:
- The main storyline is 15 to 20 hours long.
- Emergencies and replayability of your choices & decisions will add the additional hours…100+ hours.
That’s brilliant if you ask me. If anyone wants to just focus on the quick choices and complete the storyline as fast as they can due to time commitment, then they can get to the finale of the game within 20 hours.
But for someone, who takes the time to understand the storyline of the game, answers necessary needs of the NPCs, will be rewarded with amazing branching storyline and alternate endings.
We have already seen what it would look like in the gameplay video of Dying Light 2. Check it out below.
Dying Light 2 DLC Update
Next update is regarding the DLC support of Dying Light 2 and you’ll be thrilled to know that Techland is planning 4 years of DLC support for the game.
It certainly looks like it would be great to buy a season pass for Dying Light 2 because if they are going to add more parkour moves, new zombie types and new branching stories, then I am down with it.
Dying Light 2 Price Variation – It is available at lower price point than Steam Store
Final update is regarding the pricing variation of Dying Light 2. As of writing this article, Dying Light 2 is listed at $49.94 on Amazon.com.
At steam store, the pricing was $59.99 before vanishing into thin air. Steam will update the pre-order price very soon to compete against Amazon.
More updates are going to follow soon. The pre-order page of Amazon.com lists the date as 31 December 2020. That date will be adjusted as per news by Techland.
So, stay tuned.
