Will Ellie and Joel Find the Cure Together in The Last of Us 2?!
The Last of Us 2 has been confirmed by actor Nolan North, the voice actor behind Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.
Naughty Dog has yet to confirm the inevitable release of this critically acclaimed game, which is expected to turn into a beautiful and successful franchise with the release of The Last of Us 2.
The Last of Us had one of the most amazing storyline that I have ever seen in a game. It was full of drama, action and horror (in many cases) in every chapter of it.
It wasn’t contained in just a few hours of gameplay. The in-game story sprawled across months and we saw several weather changes and one of most amazing environmental effects after Crysis series.
The characters were believable and it looked like we were watching a movie rather than playing a game. Of course, Naughty Dog must fix weird AI behavior if it wants to make The Last of Us 2 a perfect game.
Previous game finished on a great cliff hanger, where Joel spared Ellie the guilt of being saved while everyone else was doomed by lying to her.
Something tells me that she didn’t believe Joel completely and it will continue to bug her in the back of her mind.
The story of The Last of Us 2 might be about Ellie finding out that Joel lied to her and she will set on the course of searching the cure for the virus.
When the voice actor behind Joel, Troy Baker, was inquired about the possible plot of The Last of Us 2, he denied completely regarding the possibility of a sequel.
To quote his words, “he had absolutely no idea that they were working on a sequel to The Last of Us”.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that Nolan North has casually mentioned that Naughty Dog are definitely working on the sequel.
They have wrapped up Uncharted’s story arc with the final game named, The Thief’s End, and are ready to focus on the next big project.
However, this time they are going to have several big games to compete in horror and survival genre.
My personal favorites are going to be Dying Light 2 and sequel to Rise of The Tomb Raider.
Rise of The Tomb Raider might not be in the same horror league, but it is certainly a tough contender for open world survival games.
The graphics of The Last of Us were beautiful and characters were expressive to a point where we could actually cry on some moments.
It is expected that The Last of Us 2 is going to be on a whole new level with the precision of motion graphics technology.
I wouldn’t be out of line to say that we are going to have movie like game (again) when it gets announced and has a proper release date.
Based on the development cycle of Naughty Dog, The Last of Us 2 could be announced next year and might be released in 2018 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
